This area has primarily developed over the last 20 years, and is a stellar location for easy access to the slopes and the Telluride Ski Resort. From Mountain Village, Telluride is just a short, scenic ride away on the free gondola that serves as the local transit system – the only transportation system of its kind in North America. In fact, the 13-minute ride is a daily event for residents and visitors alike. Several public plazas, including Heritage Plaza, anchor the village center, where summer concerts and a weekly outdoor market are popular events.
