Kitty had already owned the Bon Ton Restaurant on Ouray's Main Street since 1890 when she commissioned the stately brick St. Elmo Hotel next door that opened on April 14,1898. 127 years later the St. Elmo Hotel and Bon Ton Restaurant continue to welcome customers to Ouray's historic downtown. Today the St. Elmo features 11 guest rooms of different configurations and sizes spread across two floors. With its spacious sidewalk adjacent patio, the Bon Ton and its legacy of quality food goes back to Ouray's earliest days.
